Donate Temporary Housing Units - Short to long term lease

At Refugee Pathways and Integration Canada Inc. (RefPIC), a federally incorporated nonprofit (Corporation No. 1612970-6) and a registered Canadian charity (Registration No. 766957625RR0001), our mission is to advance the rights, dignity and self-reliance of refugees, displaced persons and host communities by delivering comprehensive services that connect urgent relief with long-term solutions. We provide education, counseling and a full range of support, including employment pathways, access to affordable housing, immigration assistance, orientation to Canadian culture and life, and humanitarian aid in crisis-affected regions. Whether working in Canada or internationally, we strive to help people move from displacement toward stability, opportunity and a true sense of belonging.
In Canada, one of the most immediate barriers faced by newly arrived refugees and vulnerable newcomers is the lack of safe, stable, and affordable housing. To address this need, we invite property owners, real estate partners, institutions, and philanthropic donors to support our mission by offering the use of complete residential units. These units provide a vital foundation for integration by giving families the security and dignity of a place to call home.
What We Are Seeking
We are currently accepting donations of move-in ready housing accommodations suitable for immediate occupancy by refugee families or individuals. These may include:
Full apartment units in multi-residential buildings
Basement apartments or secondary suites
Vacant condo units or townhouse properties
Private rental units made available at no cost for defined periods
Units must comply with local safety and zoning requirements and be in reasonable condition, with basic services (e.g., electricity, plumbing, heating) in working order.
Why Housing Matters
A stable living environment is essential for newcomers to access education, mental health services, employment pathways, and legal supports. When accommodation is secured, families can begin to rebuild their lives with confidence and dignity. Your donation removes a significant burden and accelerates the process of long-term settlement and inclusion.
Tax Receipts and Fair Market Valuation
We issue official charitable donation receipts in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) guidelines, based on the fair market value of the accommodation offered, where applicable. Our team will work with you to determine eligibility and appropriate documentation.
Donor Recognition
We recognize donors who make residential units available for the public good. This may include acknowledgement on our website, inclusion in impact stories, or visibility options agreed upon in advance. Institutional partners may also be featured in housing initiative spotlights.
