At Refugee Pathways and Integration Canada Inc. (RefPIC), a federally incorporated nonprofit (Corporation No. 1612970-6) and a registered Canadian charity (Registration No. 766957625RR0001), our mission is to advance the rights, dignity and self-reliance of refugees, displaced persons and host communities by delivering comprehensive services that connect urgent relief with long-term solutions. We provide education, counseling and a full range of support, including employment pathways, access to affordable housing, immigration assistance, orientation to Canadian culture and life, and humanitarian aid in crisis-affected regions. Whether working in Canada or internationally, we strive to help people move from displacement toward stability, opportunity and a true sense of belonging.

Adaptable infrastructure is vital to our ability to serve displaced populations effectively. Refurbished shipping containers—converted into mobile offices, classrooms, or temporary living spaces—offer a practical, cost-efficient solution where permanent structures are unavailable or unsuitable. These units help us respond faster, reach farther, and operate more sustainably in resource-limited environments.

What We Accept

We welcome donations of structurally sound steel containers, either pre-modified or suitable for conversion into:

• Field offices for outreach, case management, or coordination

• Classrooms or skill training spaces

• Temporary housing or staff accommodation units

• Health rooms or mobile clinic stations

• Secure storage for donated equipment and supplies

• Portable kitchens, laundry areas, or washrooms

Units must be weatherproof, lockable, and in safe working condition. Insulation, flooring, windows, doors, and utility hookups are appreciated but not required. We also accept containerized units from corporate, construction, or government donors undergoing fleet upgrades or site decommissioning.

How Donations Are Used

Refurbished containers support operations where rapid setup, mobility, and cost containment are essential. In Canada, they can serve as transitional office space or secure program hubs. Internationally, they are used for field classrooms, community shelters, or remote service delivery where traditional infrastructure is lacking. Each container becomes a multi-purpose space—housing staff, offering protection, or enabling service access in challenging environments.

Tax Receipts and Fair Market Valuation

We issue official charitable donation receipts for eligible units based on fair market value. Valuations may be based on comparable market listings, supplier invoices, or third-party assessments. Our team works closely with donors to ensure CRA-compliant documentation and reporting.

Donor Recognition and Visibility

Donated containers play a direct role in delivering humanitarian aid and support. We publicly recognize these contributions through our website, program reports, and donor acknowledgment materials. For large-scale donations, we may include nameplates or donor decals on units placed in the field, subject to operational use and donor preference.

How to Donate

If you have available containers or are able to support a donation or transfer, please contact us at admin@refugeecanada.org or call (437) 566-2789. Supporting documents, technical specifications, or images may be faxed to (416) 352-5361. We provide logistical coordination for pickup or transport and can work with donors to identify priority use areas.

A Container Can Become a Classroom, a Shelter, or a Safe Place to Begin Again

Your donation of a refurbished container can transform an empty space into a foundation for recovery and resilience. Whether used to house a team, welcome a family, or store lifesaving supplies, it becomes a building block in the architecture of dignity and care.
